Paul Stanhopes Requiem won the APRA/AMC Art Music Award for best choral work in 2022; Limelight magazine described it as a piece for our times. Interweaving the traditional texts of the Requiem with contemporary poetry by four female poets Neela Nath Das from India, Mary Elizabeth Frye and Emily Dickinson (both American) and Australian Indigenous poet Oodgeroo Noonuccal Stanhope offers an uplifting and ultimately life-affirming music experience that brings together consolation, connection to country, commemoration and celebration.
