Having scored a Top 20 hit with his debut album Are We There Yet?, Brighton’s James Marriott looks poised to achieve a whole lot more as he prepares to release his second album, Dont Tell The Dog on June 13th. Its an album in which James confronts a myriad spectrum of neuroses, uncertainties and self-defeating thought processes. But as an artist who loves a striking contrast, theyre woven into songs primarily built for joyous, anthemic singalongs and boisterous live energy. Carefully curated from over a hundred demos, these songs collectively paint an autobiographical picture of Jamess life so far. I wanted to explore themes from my childhood, and in the second half how attachment theory can affect you as an adult. I wanted to look at things that happened to me whilst I was younger and identify ways in which they have echoed into my current relationships.
