A new solo album from the Camper Van Beethoven and Monks of Doom guitarist, Underwater Detection Method finds Greg Lisher reinventing his own approach to music making: the songs collected here were his first written on a keyboard, and self-produced with a strong focus on synthesisers. The album offers a spacious sonic balm that sits evenly between ambient, library music and electronic soundtracks, conjuring an inspired fusion that manages to split the difference between the melodic and the experimental.
